Mintz to Host 4th Annual Energy Transition Summit in Cambridge, Kicking Off Tough Tech Week 2025

CAMBRIDGE, MA—Mintz will host its fourth annual Energy Transition Summit: Shaping Our Energy Future – The Path Forward on October 27. The Summit will bring together nearly 150 leaders from across the public and private sectors for a day focused on the technologies driving the energy transition and the legal and financial structures supporting their growth. Held at The Engine, MIT’s accelerator for breakthrough technologies, the Summit will kick off Tough Tech Week 2025, a multi-day celebration of innovation in Cambridge’s tech ecosystem.

Set in Cambridge’s innovation corridor, this year’s program will explore how policy, investment, and emerging technologies are reshaping the energy landscape. Keynote remarks will be delivered by David Crane, CEO and Chairman of Generate Capital and former Under Secretary for Infrastructure at the DOE. Additional speakers include former FERC Commissioner Allison Clements and senior representatives from the US Department of Energy, Moelis & Company, and Mizuho Financial Group.

“This year’s Summit comes at a critical time for the energy transition,” said Tom Burton, Chair of Mintz’s Sustainable Energy & Infrastructure Practice. “It also marks 20 years since we launched our practice, which was the first in the legal industry to focus on energy and sustainability. We’re proud of that history and remain committed to supporting our clients as they navigate the opportunities and challenges shaping the future of the sector.”

The Summit’s agenda will feature sessions addressing the latest developments and challenges in the energy transition. Topics will include:

  • Regulatory Frameworks for the Energy Future
  • PE Trends in Energy Transition and Industrial Technologies
  • Powering the Next Generation of Digital Infrastructure & Energy
  • Tax Strategies Unlocked — Driving Value Following Enactment of the OBBBA
  • Accelerating the Path to Commercialization

The invite-only event will conclude with a networking reception and kickoff celebration for Tough Tech Week 2025.
