Our lead regulatory story focuses on FCC Chairman Pai’s recent letters to voice providers urging them to do their part to ensure speedy deployment of a robust, industry-led call authentication system — and putting them on notice that the FCC will “take action” if it appears the system isn’t progressing on schedule. Along with additional FCC updates, this issue of our newsletter also covers last week’s decision by the Supreme Court to grant the Petition for Certiorari in PDR Network, LLC v. Carlton & Harris Chiropractic — a case that may help determine whether and under what circumstances lower courts will be bound to follow FCC rules.
