Ryan is a litigator who represents clients in a broad range of complex civil litigation in federal and state courts, including antitrust, securities, shareholder, and appellate cases. He has experience drafting motions and briefs, supporting depositions, and handling discovery requests, including leading multi-attorney teams. Ryan works with companies across a variety of industries, including insurance and sports-related businesses.

Ryan also maintains an active pro bono practice, which has included representing a client in a complex civil action involving conspiracy and other claims.

Prior to joining Mintz, Ryan practiced as a litigation associate at a multinational law firm, where he worked on all facets of complex civil litigation matters. He also served as a judicial law clerk for the now-retired Hon. Robert B. Kugler of the US District Court for the District of New Jersey.

While earning his JD, Ryan was a summer law clerk in the Felony Trial Division of the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office in Chicago and a judicial extern for the Hon. John Robert Blakey of the US District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. In law school, he served as the managing articles editor of the Journal of Criminal Law and Criminology. He was also a teaching assistant to a criminal law professor and a research assistant to a professor focused on capital defense.

During his time at law school, Ryan won numerous awards at national and regional moot courts. At Northwestern, he was named champion of the Julius H. Miner Moot Court Competition in his second year, for which he received the William Jennings Bryan Award. He was also named best overall advocate at a Buffalo-Niagara Mock Trial Competition and a quarterfinalist at a National Child Welfare & Adoption Law Competition. Additionally, he also participated on teams that were named regional champions and regional finalists at two Texas Young Lawyers Association National Trial Competitions.
