Mintz Advises Underwriters of Viking’s $287.5 Million Public Offering of Common Stock

NEW YORK – Mintz represented the syndicate of underwriters led by William Blair & Company, L.L.C., in the public offering of 17,242,000 shares of common stock of Viking Therapeutics, Inc. (“Viking”) (Nasdaq: VKTX), a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on the development of novel therapies for metabolic and endocrine disorders, at an initial offering price of $14.50 per share.

The underwriters were granted, and have exercised, a 30-day option to purchase up to 2,586,300 additional shares of common stock on the same terms and conditions.

The gross proceeds of the offering, before deducting underwriting discounts and commissions and offering expenses, were $287.5 million, including the full exercise of the underwriters’ option to purchase additional shares. The offering closed on April 3, 2023.

William Blair & Company, L.L.C. acted as lead book-running manager and Raymond James & Associates, Inc. acted as joint book-running manager for the offering. Truist Securities, Inc., BTIG, LLC, Oppenheimer & Co. Inc. and H.C. Wainwright & Co., LLC also acted as bookrunners for the offering. Maxim Group LLC, Roth Capital Partners, LLC and Laidlaw & Company (UK) Ltd. acted as co-managers.
