Sarah is an organic chemist who helps companies and universities protect innovations in diverse areas of chemistry. She provides strategic patent preparation and prosecution advice to organizations of all sizes, some with extensive international patent portfolios.

Sarah’s experience includes drafting patent applications, amendments, and briefs, with a particular focus on small molecule pharmaceuticals, gene therapy, genetic engineering, and polymers. She also provides direction to foreign counsel, conducts freedom-to-operate analyses, and has supported litigation teams with prior art searches, document review, and the preparation of expert opinions.

As an adjunct professor at the Rochester Institute of Technology, Sarah taught general and organic chemistry and biochemistry courses. She earned her PhD at the University of Rochester, where she developed and executed systematic studies of Asymmetric Mukaiyama Aldol reactions, optimized synthetic routes for the development of novel chiral Oxazaborolidines, and created chiral valine derived catalyst systems. Her thesis is titled, “Asymmetric Mukaiyama Aldol Additions using Chiral Oxazaborolidines.”
