Private Equity Dealmaker Griffin Doty Joins Mintz Amid Continued New York Growth

Mintz has added sought-after private equity dealmaker Griffin Doty as a Member in its New York office, further advancing the firm’s strategic growth and investment in its corporate practice in a highly competitive market. Griffin is a recognized presence in private equity circles, and known for his creative problem-solving on complex, high-stakes transactions. He joins from McDermott Will & Schulte.

“Private equity continues to be a core strength and strategic growth area of the firm,” said Managing Member Bob Bodian. “Bringing in a lawyer like Griffin is a strategic investment in top-tier talent and will further strengthen our work advising on complex transactions across key industries, including health care, life sciences, and technology.”

Griffin is a go-to advisor on mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, debt and equity investments, joint ventures, recapitalizations, restructurings, and other complex corporate transactions. He has guided private equity sponsors and their portfolio companies, venture capital funds, family offices, and strategic buyers and sellers through some of the market’s most challenging transactions — from initial acquisition through portfolio growth to exit.

His experience spans a range of industries, including business-to-business services, health care and life sciences, technology and data solutions, consumer goods, hospitality, and gaming, entertainment, and sports.

“Griffin offers exactly the type of experience we are building around our corporate platform in New York,” said Daniel DeWolf, head of Mintz’s New York corporate practice. “He advises a broad range of sophisticated private equity clients and growth-stage businesses, bringing the judgment and executional depth our clients rely on across the full deal lifecycle.”

“I was drawn to Mintz for its entrepreneurial culture, reputation and momentum in private equity,” said Griffin. “The firm’s depth and forward-thinking approach in private equity and key industries are what clients need to move quickly and successfully execute on their most ambitious transactions.”

Since opening its New York office more than 25 years ago, Mintz has steadily expanded its presence to meet growing client demand in corporate, private equity, and high-stakes matters in the global financial and business epicenter — a trajectory the firm continues under the leadership of recently appointed New York Office Managing Member Francis Earley.
