Anna is a registered patent agent with a research background in biochemistry, molecular parasitology, and drug discovery. She has significant experience handling US and international patent prosecution matters involving biochemistry, molecular biology, genomics, cancer therapeutics, and biologics as well as molecular and diagnostic tools.

Innovators in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries rely on Anna’s knowledgeable guidance to help them manage their IP portfolios and develop optimal portfolio strategies. Anna also drafts patent applications; prepares invalidity, freedom-to-operate, and patentability opinions; and performs investor-side and company-side IP due diligence.

Prior to joining Mintz, Anna was a patent agent in the IP practice of a leading international law firm.

Her doctoral research in molecular parasitology and drug discovery focused on genetically validating viable drug targets against Trypanosoma brucei, the causative parasite of African sleeping sickness, as well as investigating the contribution of mRNA recruitment to ribosomes as a regulator of gene expression regulation in T. brucei using next generation sequencing. She has published articles on her research in several peer-reviewed journals.
