Avani represents public and private corporations in general commercial litigation.
Prior to joining Mintz, Avani was a litigation associate in the DC office of an international law firm, where she researched and drafted memoranda on complex issues of contract interpretation, arbitration procedures, legal ethics rules, international trade, and securities law. In addition, Avani conducted international trade due diligence for M&A and private equity deals.
While earning her law degree, Avani worked as a legislative intern for Senator Jeff Jackson in the North Carolina General Assembly and served as a managing editor of the Georgetown Journal of Gender and the Law. Prior to attending law school, she was an AmeriCorps New Sector Alliance Fellow with Year Up, an organization providing job training and placement services to low-income urban youth.
She has published several articles on international trade law, including in WorldECR, the journal of export controls and sanctions, and maintains an active pro bono practice.
