Filip is a registered patent agent with experience drafting and prosecuting US and international patent applications for clients in the biotech industry.
Filip has handled patents for innovations in chemotherapy, immunotherapy, ex vivo tumor culture, intracellular delivery, and nucleic acid detection. His work also includes performing patent validity and freedom to operate investigations as well as preparing patent portfolio landscape reviews and due diligence reports.
Prior to joining Mintz, Filip was a patent agent in the Palo Alto office of a large international law firm, where he represented individual inventors and worked with inventors and in-house counsel at a variety of biotech companies. As a post-doctoral fellow at Georgetown University, Filip researched the mechanisms regulating local dendritic synthesis of BDNF using an array of molecular biology and biochemical techniques. Prior to earning his PhD, Filip worked as a biologist in the Genetics and Biochemistry Branch of the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) of the National Institutes of Health.
