Hanna is a registered patent agent with a background in molecular biology, genetics, immunology, and biomedical engineering. She focuses her practice on patent prosecution and various due diligence counseling, primarily for clients in the biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, and medical technology industries.

Prior to joining Mintz, Hanna was a scientific advisor in the Boston office of a California-based global law firm, where she assisted the Patent & Innovation Strategies Group with patent prosecution, intellectual property counseling, and patentability analysis.

Hanna’s PhD research includes reprogramming stem cells, formulating small interfering RNA (siRNA) delivery vehicles, incorporating pathogen mechanisms as a protective shield against biomaterials, and characterizing pathogen recognition receptor responses against biomaterials for cell encapsulation. As a PhD student at MIT, Hanna received a Gilliam Fellowship for Advanced Study from the Howard Hughes Medical Institute.

Hanna is currently pursuing her J.D. at Berkeley Law with a concentration on intellectual property law.
