Iulia is a registered patent agent who focuses her practice on US and international patent prosecution for clients in the technology and life sciences industries. She has prepared patent applications for clients across a broad range of technical, scientific, and engineering fields and has particular experience with drafting and prosecuting design and utility patent applications describing biomedical devices, electrical devices, mechanical devices, optical devices, and software products.
Iulia’s experience includes providing strategy, preparation, and due diligence services while working with legal, product, and engineering teams to identify and protect patentable products, services, and technologies. As a research associate at the University of Texas at Austin, she developed non-invasive imaging techniques for diagnostics and therapeutics, wrote research grants, and established research studies with clinical and industrial collaborators. While at the University of Maastricht, Iulia also led clinical studies focused on developing innovative ultrasound imaging methods to improve vascular diagnosis as a postdoctoral fellow.
Having studied and worked in global research and technology environments, Iulia has experience working with multicultural work ideologies and strategies, which enables her to successfully communicate with clients of all backgrounds. She is also fluent in Spanish, Romanian, German, and Dutch. Iulia is an active member of the Society of Women Engineers and enjoys mentoring young students who wish to pursue a career in science.
