Nick is an intellectual property attorney and registered patent agent with a background in mechanical engineering and experience in the aerospace industry. He prosecutes US and international patents and provides IP counseling, with a focus on software and hardware technologies related to medical devices, robotic systems, machine learning, and space systems. Nick also has experience performing due diligence and preparing freedom to operate and patentability analyses.

Prior to joining Mintz, Nick was a patent associate at an international law firm. Earlier, he worked as a spacecraft propulsion engineer for a major satellite manufacturer, where he designed propulsion systems for civilian uses, including geocommunication and imaging satellites and human-rated lunar orbiters. He also regularly commanded spacecraft during post-launch activities while serving in mission control.

In law school, Nick was a founding member of the USC Gould School of Law team in the USPTO’s 2022 National Patent Drafting Competition.
