Zachary is a Technical Advisor with a background in chemistry. He has experience preparing patents in the areas of small molecule chemicals, macromolecular polymers and peptides, pharmaceutical drugs and therapeutics, biologic therapies, disease-specific drug treatments, materials science, and chemical engineering.
Prior to joining Mintz, Zachary was a technology specialist in the New York office of an international law firm, where he assisted with preparing and prosecuting US and international patent applications. He also previously worked as a patent scientist/engineer in the chemistry and life sciences group of a global law firm. In that role, he drafted US and international patent applications and provided assistance with invalidity analyses and inter partes review proceedings. Earlier, as a postdoctoral researcher at IBM Research – Almaden, Zachary worked on projects involving small molecules with antimicrobial properties and high-throughput polymer synthesis.
While earning his PhD, Zachary conducted research on organic & organometallic synthesis, polymer chemistry, lithography, and materials science.
