Real Estate

Acquisitions & Dispositions

Managing significant and valuable properties and portfolios requires counsel who can handle any issue that may arise during complex real estate transactions — from land-use and environmental issues to regulatory challenges, bankruptcy proceedings, and corporate restructurings. Mintz Levin has the experience and practice depth to help guide you through routine or sophisticated real estate acquisitions and dispositions. We regularly counsel clients on acquisitions and dispositions related to portfolio reallocations, changing economic conditions, consolidations after mergers, and sales of underperforming or overlapping properties.

We support our clients’ long-term management of substantial national and international corporate real estate portfolios, advising them on acquisition, sale, lease, and sale / leaseback transactions involving office, retail, residential, industrial, health care, hotel, and multi-use properties. Our clients include real estate developers, REITs, major pension funds, and prominent public and privately held companies. We also have significant experience with securitized and unsecuritized holdings, transactions involving partnership and joint venture issues, and the special considerations that arise in sale / leaseback, tenants-in-common, and other complex transactions.
