Kari concentrates her private equity and investment funds practice on representing private equity funds of funds, other investment advisers, and institutional investors in a broad range of matters involving investment funds and investments. She draws on extensive experience, including several years as general counsel to a global family office and private equity fund, to develop practical solutions that help clients meet their business objectives.

Kari devotes a significant portion of her practice to counseling investment advisers on regulatory compliance, corporate governance, and sponsorship of private investment funds as well as organizing a full range of private investment funds, including leveraged buyout, venture capital, real estate, senior debt, mezzanine debt, and special focus funds. In the private equity side of her practice, she represents funds of funds focused on primary investments in middle-market leveraged buyout funds, distressed opportunities funds, real estate funds, and venture capital funds; traditional and synthetic secondary investments in private equity funds and real estate investments; and direct co-investments in private equity, mezzanine, and real estate transactions.

In her work for domestic and international institutional investors, Kari advises them on alternative investments, including primary investments in hundreds of private equity funds, mezzanine funds, venture capital funds, real estate funds, special focus funds, traditional and synthetic secondary investments, and direct co-investments.

Prior to joining Mintz, Kari was a partner in the Fund Formation team and a member of the Private Equity and Investment Funds group in the Boston office of an international law firm.
