Eóin is a nationally recognized trial lawyer and career defense lawyer who represents companies, executives, public officials, and board committees in their most sensitive government investigations and high-stakes criminal and civil enforcement matters. Co-chair of Mintz’s White Collar Defense and Government Investigations Practice, Eóin is known for achieving quiet, early-stage resolutions with the DOJ, SEC, state attorneys general, and other enforcement agencies — and for winning when cases must be tried.

Eóin has secured acquittals, dismissals, and declinations in complex cases involving allegations of securities fraud, health care fraud, government contracting fraud, public corruption, insider trading, FCPA violations, and False Claims Act liability. He regularly advises corporate boards and special committees on internal investigations, whistleblower allegations, and crisis-driven compliance matters, and has deep experience guiding clients through parallel criminal, civil, and regulatory inquiries. Eóin’s investigations have helped clients avoid government charges and reputational damage, negotiate favorable resolutions, and get back to business.

When a negotiated resolution is not possible, Eóin is a veteran courtroom advocate who served as trial counsel in the only full trial acquittal obtained in the nationwide “Varsity Blues” prosecution. Recognized by Chambers USA and named a Litigation Trailblazer by the National Law Journal, he has represented clients in some of the largest and highest-visibility investigations in recent years, including matters involving the DOJ Special Counsel, the global 1MDB investigation, federal cybercrime inquiries, NTSB investigations, and postincident infrastructure failures.

In addition to his work for clients, Eoin serves a faculty member of the Trial Advocacy program at Harvard Law School.
